A German student slowly adjusts to her new life in Canada until she is confronted with her past. She immerses herself in a new culture and loses her regional ties in an overstimulating digital media maze. The bogeyman, a haunting folktale, sneaks up on her and uses her phone to contact her before it physically manifests itself. Combining the old with the new, the film explores the loss of identity of young people abroad in an era of digital fluidity. How do cultural stories, deeply rooted in our cultural organism, follow us through life?
